 The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence was introduced in Sept 2008 for PCV drivers and the year later Sept 2009 for LGV drivers.

The aim of the qualification is to enhance all professional drivers knowledge. skills and attitude. This will help to maintain high driving standards which will improve road safety by continuous development throughout their career. All professional vocational drivers must hold a valid Driver Qualification Card.

There are certain industries that are exempt from this ruling Armed Forces etc, see this link to check to see if YOU need driver CPC.

Initial Driver CPC Module 4
Using our own DVSA qualified assessor. Usually a one day course including morning training with your instructor and afternoon assessment. On successful completion you will be issued your pass certificate.  Our SHAWS Module 4 CPC  Training Guide for your study, is given to you prior to starting your training course with us.

Only £240. Plus Vat.

 

Module 2 classroom theory part (at a theory test station) cost of £23, must be passed before we can train and assess  you on the Module 4 CPC.

There are 7 case studies . This tests your understanding of the industry and will be multiple choice/ short worded answer or clicking on a image/photo. For best results and to fully prepare yourself for this test we recommend using our online partner Driving Time Success.

Periodic Driver CPCMaster Driver Consortium

By choosing a CPC Driver RTITB Consortium member you will be assured of the following:

Shaw's Driver Training classes
Four different ways and prices we offer to deliver our CPC Periodic Training.

Option 1 – Open Session at one of our training rooms Telford or Shrewsbury. Available for individual independent drivers or companies.

  • 7 hour statutory course length plus I hour of breaks.
  • Start time 8am on Weekend days. Arrival and registration must be 30 mins before the start time.
  • The approx. finish time will be 4pm as a morning and afternoon 15 minute comfort break will be included and a half hour lunch break.
  • Buffet lunch is included in the cost, plus bottled water and tea/coffee making facilities.
  • Upload and attendance certificate included.
  • Optional assessment and success certificate if requested.

Option 2 – Open Session at one of our training rooms in Telford or Shrewsbury. Available for individuals and larger company groups.

As all option 1 BUT if a company wants to book 5 drivers or more onto an OPEN Session then a volume discount can be applied. Please call 01743 233139 for more information.

 

Option 3 – Exclusive company booking at your company premises (call 01743 233139 to discuss training room mandatory requirements)

  • Buffet lunch and bottled water and tea/coffee making facilities (supplied by yourselves)
  • 7 hour statutory course length plus I hour of breaks.
  • Start time 8am on Weekend or weekdays. Arrival and registration must be 30 mins before the start time.
  • Upload fee and Attendance certificate included
  • Optional Assessment and successful Certificate if requested. (additional cost)

Option 4 – Exclusive company booking at one of our training rooms in Telford or Shrewsbury

AM.  Factors that influence driving behaviour are often overlooked: This course subject explores the effects of road predictability and methods to avoid them. Drivers will also learn how Optical behaviour and driving distractions can affect them whilst on the road. 

PM. This course subject prepares drivers for Emergencies and unforeseen events, providing guidance on Emergencies such as: breakdowns, and vehicle fires. The subject also covers preventative measures such as vehicle inspections, tyre safety and vehicle security. 

 

Saturday February 9th Subjects: Safe and Economical Driving and PM The Professional Driver (menu 1).

Saturday March 16th Subjects: AM Drivers Hours and Regs and PM The Professional Driver (menu 2). 

Saturday April 13th Subjects: AM Digital Tachograph and PM On the Road (menu 2).
